The Jerusalem Post reports that Hezbollah "sources confirmed Thursday that the terror group received a shipment of Scud missiles from Syria, the Kuwaiti paper Al-Rai reported. According to the report, the missiles were claimed to be old and unusable. Hizbullah also accused Israel of blowing the incident out of proportion in order to provoke a media ruckus. Senator Joe Lieberman: "Thank God" Political Momentum Now With Republicans
The Hill reports that "it's a good thing that voters have moved against the prospect of one-party control of Congress for decades, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) said. Lieberman, an Independent senator who caucuses with Democrats, acknowledged momentum for the GOP and said that independents had become alienated from Democrats, who control both the House and the Senate."
"There were a lot of people, particularly Democrats, who were declaring after the 2008 election that we were beginning a period of Democratic dominance that would go on for decades," Lieberman said during an interview with the conservative Newsmax magazine. "Now, all of a sudden, the momentum is with the Republicans. And that's — thank God — that's the way people have spoken, you know? That's our democracy."

Reuters reports that U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates was asked about this and said: "I don't believe it."
"I think that most estimates that I've seen, haven't changed since the last time we talked about it, which is probably at least a year, and maybe more," Gates told reporters on a flight to South America.

Senator Joe Lieberman: Dropping "Islamic Extremism" Term Is "Orwellian And Counterproductive"
The Hill reports that "Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) on Sunday called the administration's proposal to avoid the term 'Islamic extremism' in national security references 'absolutely Orwellian and counterproductive.' Lieberman revealed on 'Fox News Sunday' that he had sent a letter to the president's top counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, saying in part: 'The failure to identify our enemy for what it is, violent Islamist extremism, is offensive and contradicts thousands of years of accepted military and intelligence doctrine to know your enemy.' The chairman of the Homeland Security Committee said the letter was the product of him growing 'so frustrated' with the White House over the terminology issue. He said the Defense Department omitted references to 'violent Islamist extremism' in its report on the massacre at Fort Hood."
