Great Week For Republicans Just Got Better: Keith Olbermann Suspended From MSNBC "Indefinitely Without Pay"
CBS News reports that "Keith Olbermann has been suspended indefinitely without pay from MSNBC for making donations to three Democrats in violation of NBC's ethics policy. 'I became aware of Keith's political contributions late last night,' Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC, said in a statement. 'Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay.' Olbermann, who does not hide his liberal views, has acknowledged donations of $2,400 each to Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway and Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords during this election cycle."
Keith Olbermannn being suspended the same week Republicans make huge gains in the midterm elections is what conservatives call a great week. That being said, I actually do not think Olbermann should face these reprecussions for donating to Democratic candidates. The NBC rule or policy states: "Anyone working for NBC News who takes part in civic or other outside activities may find that these activities jeopardize his or her standing as an impartial journalist because they may create the appearance of a conflict of interest." It's sort of bizarre to apply a rule dealing with one's "standing as an impartial journalist" to Keith Olbermann who is neither impartial nor is he a journalist. It seems odd to punish Keith Olbermann on this basis. Olbermann is a leftist ranting TV host that not a single viewer can believe even has the pretense of being impartial. He is a shill for liberal Democrats. That he donated to a few Democrat campaigns hardly seems like a grave offense especially as it is not one that should at all surprise anybody. He really should be treated no differently, despite my disagreements with his show and the tenor of his rants, than Sean Hannity who has also endorsed or donated to Congressional campaign committee's that he supported.

Exit Polls Shows Uptick In Support For Republicans From Gays
GOProud reports that exit "polling reveals that gay and lesbian voters played a critical role in the Republican Party’s historic gains in the U.S. House on Tuesday night. According to CNN, 31% of self-identified gay voters supported Republican candidates for the U.S. House. This number is a dramatic increase from the 19% GOP House candidates won among gay voters in 2008." Tweet
French Say That Al Qaeda Yemen Mail Bomb Defused Just Minutes Before Exploding
CBS News reports that one "of two mail bombs sent from Yemen last week was disarmed just 17 minutes before it was set to go off, the French interior minister said Thursday, but American and British officials said they had no information that would confirm that." Tweet
GOP Wins That Are Actually "Most Significant" Are Pickups Of State Legislative Seats
The National Journal reports that "the most significant results on Tuesday came in state legislatures where Republicans wiped the floor with Democrats. Republicans picked up 680 seats in state legislatures, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures -- the most in the modern era. To put that number in perspective: In the 1994 GOP wave, Republicans picked up 472 seats. The previous record was in the post-Watergate election of 1974, when Democrats picked up 628 seats. The GOP gained majorities in at least 14 state house chambers. They now have unified control -- meaning both chambers -- of 26 state legislatures. That control is a particularly bad sign for Democrats as they go into the redistricting process. If the GOP is effective in gerrymandering districts in many of these states, it could eventually lead to the GOP actually expanding its majority in 2012." Tweet

Delusional Chris Matthews Says GOP Made Obama "Into A Lefty"
As if Obama was a centrist and the Republicans had some magical lefty dust that they sprinkled over him. This is just delusional. Obama has always been a liberal, and he needed no help from the GOP in that regard.
